Hebrews 13:1-2
"Let brotherly love continue. Don't forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it."
Imagine that. How would you know? How would you know that you were entertaining an angel? My mom was a great cook. The windows and doors were open and the wonderful aroma filled the outside air. A thin elderly woman happened upon our home. She was on foot carrying all of her possessions with her and she was tired. She just wanted to rest awhile and asked if she could sit and rest on the back porch. She would not come inside. The woman would not accept any food. She only wanted us to refill her water bottle which was an old soda bottle. I got the water for her and gave it to her. I walked inside and turned back around to give her some food that my mom put together. She was there and then she was gone. There was no place, on foot, that she could have gone that quickly. My mom said, "She was an angel!" I know in the Bible angels are men...but on earth, I don't think the Bible is definitive. Was she an angel? I would like to think that she was an angel and I am so glad that I had a mom that taught me to be hospitable to strangers.
