When God saves us...by His grace...we can be certain that we had nothing to do with our salvation. We don't ask for God to save us, it is a gift from God. Before God saved us, His plan and His purpose for our lives was prepared in advance. It is up to us to walk in and to do that which God has prepared.
Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
God is the author and the finisher of our faith...Hebrews 12:2 "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
He gave us a measure of faith by which we might be saved...we had absolutely nothing to do with our salvation. We did not strive and work to be saved we accepted the gift of salvation of God. God saves us and God will not take our salvation away. God does not change His mind...
Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?
Are we doing all that God has prepared for us? Only we can answer that question for ourselves.
