If we knew the challenges of life in advance what would we do? More than likely we would choose not to suffer, we would choose to be happy and content, and not have pain of any kind. Many years ago a friend of mine was suffering with work struggles and money woes. The person was very vocal and blamed God for the situation. I could see how much the person had been blessed by God but the person could not. Life got much worse...much worse. I learned a great deal from this situation. We all know things can be worse than they are we just don't know what that might look like. To be thankful "in" everything does not mean we are thankful "for" the situation. It does mean that God is bigger than any problem we have and He will bring us through. Trust in Him. I think God wants to know, "Do you love me...do you trust me?" His ways are not our ways. He knows the beginning from the end. Be thankful for what you have and be thankful for what you don't have...God knows what we need.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:9
