I am tenacious. I have been told I am tenacious and I know that tenacity is a quality that I possess. Tenacity can be good or bad.
We can have a tenacious memory. We can tenaciously remember the pain and sorrow that others have caused us and we can choose to hold on to those memories and not forgive. Or, we can be tenacious in our efforts to let go of the pain and sorrow and choose not to hold on to the hurt. We can tenaciously forgive. Jesus was more than tenacious. He IS tenacity. Jesus allowed no one or nothing to stand in His way of going to the cross and to be the ultimate sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins.
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I
forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven
times. Matthew 18:21-22
Forgiveness is NOT an option. Tenaciously forgive.
